1. Aduba was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Nigerian parents, of Igbo origin, from Achi in Enugu State.

2. Aduba first garnered recognition for her acting in 2003, when her performance in Translations of Xhosa Aduba played the character Amphiarus in 2006 at New York Theatre Workshop and again in 2008 at La Jolla Playhouse.

3. In 2013, Aduba began portraying SuzanneCrazy EyesWarren in the Netflix comedy-drama series Orange Is the New Black. On being cast, Aduba said:
